Terms of Service
1. Who we are
FedSonar is a website and newsletter of US federal contract leads.
FedSonar is run by Farsonar, based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. FedSonar is operated by Cristian Andrade.
- Address: FedSonar, 329 Howe St, Unit #200, Vancouver, BC V6C 3N2, Canada
- Contact: hello@fedsonar.com
In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean FedSonar. "You" means the person or business using FedSonar.
2. Not the US government
FedSonar is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the US government, the General Services Administration (GSA), SAM.gov, USASpending.gov, or any federal agency.
We are a private company. We read public government data and organize it.
Using FedSonar does not register you with SAM.gov, submit a bid, or give you any status with any agency.
3. Agreeing to these Terms
You agree to these Terms by ticking the box (or clicking the button) that says you accept them. We ask at:
- sign-up (creating an account), and
- checkout (buying a $7 Lead Pack or Pro).
We keep a record of each acceptance: the Terms version, the date and time, and your account.
Lemon Squeezy hosts the checkout, so the accept box sits on our page, before the checkout opens. If you buy a $7 Lead Pack as a guest, you accept these Terms at your first sign-in, before the download.
If you don't agree, please don't use FedSonar.
You must be 18 or older to use FedSonar.
If you use FedSonar for a business, you confirm you're allowed to accept these Terms for that business.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. It's part of these Terms.
4. What FedSonar offers

All prices are in US dollars (USD).
We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a major paid feature during a paid Pro period, we'll tell you, and Pro subscribers may cancel and get a pro-rated refund for the current month.
5. Where the data comes from
FedSonar uses public US government data:
- SAM.gov public Contract Opportunities data, and
- the USASpending.gov API.
6. Public data, and what you're actually paying for
We want to be honest about this.
The government data is public. Works of the US federal government are not protected by copyright in the US (17 U.S.C. § 105). Facts like titles, agencies, deadlines, amounts and codes are not owned by us.
You can always get that data yourself from SAM.gov or USASpending.gov and use it as the law allows. These Terms don't limit that.
What you're paying for is access to our service. That includes:
- our selection and compilation of leads,
- our ranking and Fit scores,
- our category tags,
- our summaries,
- our alerts and tracking, and
- the website, files and tools that deliver them.
Our summaries are written automatically by software, not by a person. We don't claim they're protected by copyright.
So your rights and limits come from this contract: the license in section 7 and the rules in section 8.
7. Your license
When you have an active account or a purchase, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
- use FedSonar, and
- use the files you download,
for your own business purposes (for example, finding and preparing bids for your own company).
You may share a lead with a colleague for a specific bid. Bulk sharing (for example passing on whole files, lists or your access) isn't allowed.
- Personal means one person per account.
- Your license lasts while your account or purchase is in good standing (see section 10).
- We keep all rights we don't expressly give you.
8. What you must not do
These rules protect the service that paying users rely on. You must not:
- Resell FedSonar leads, files, summaries, alerts or access.
- Redistribute or republish them, for example posting a CSV online, putting our leads in another product, newsletter or database, or sending files to people outside your licensed account.
- Share your login, sign-in links or session with anyone else.
- Share paid files outside your licensed account (sharing a single lead with a colleague for a specific bid is fine, see section 7).
- Scrape or bulk-extract FedSonar, by bots, scripts, crawlers or any automated means, or try to get around our limits.
- Remove or hide the license column, row reference codes, or page watermarks in order to hide where something came from.
- Try to get paid content without paying, break our security, or access another person's account or data.
- Overload the service or interfere with other users.
- Use FedSonar for anything illegal, including spam, fraud or harassment.
The free weekly issue may be forwarded freely, with "via FedSonar" credit.
9. Fair use limits
To stop scraping, reasonable limits apply to search, API access, download links and request speed.
- Weekly Pro CSVs are unlimited.
- Download links have no hard cap. Unusually high download activity is flagged for review by our team (see section 12). A flag is not a penalty.
If you hit a limit, you'll see a "slow down" message. We may tune these limits over time.
10. Sign-in, sessions and devices
- No passwords. You sign in with a link we email you. The link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
- Optional text codes. If you've opted in to texts, you can sign in with a code we text you instead. The code works once and expires after 10 minutes.
- Up to 3 active sessions (signed-in devices or browsers) per account. Signing in on a 4th ends the oldest session, and we email you about it.
- New device: signing in on a new device needs a fresh email sign-in on that device.
- Sessions last up to 30 days, and end after 7 days with no activity.
- Download links last 10 minutes and only work in the signed-in session that asked for them.
Keep your email account secure. Anyone who controls your email can sign in to FedSonar.
Tell us right away at hello@fedsonar.com if you think someone else is using your account.
11. How we protect paid content (please read)
We mark paid content so leaks can be traced to an account. By using paid features, you agree to this.
- Paid CSV files are unique to each buyer. Each file includes:
- a visible license column stating the file is licensed to your order and that resale is prohibited, and
- per-buyer identifiers (fingerprints): reference codes on each row, plus small differences in how our own fields are presented (for example, the order of tags or reasons, or one of several equally accurate summary wordings).
- Every buyer of the same product gets the same leads, scores and facts. The marks never change any government data and never change which leads you get.
- Paid pages show a faint watermark with a short code linked to your account (for example "FS-7K3Q"). It never shows your email.
If a FedSonar file or screenshot appears somewhere it shouldn't, we may use these marks to identify which account it came from.
12. Abuse monitoring
- We check account activity daily for signs of sharing or scraping. Examples: several devices in use at the same time, unusual download or search volume, and bot-like request patterns.
- An IP address or country change on its own never counts against you. Travel, VPNs and phone networks are normal.
- Our operations team triages every flag, and a person, the owner of FedSonar, must approve before any suspension or ban.
- Nothing is suspended or banned automatically.
Some protections are automatic and immediate. They're limits, not penalties: speed limits, the session limit, refusing a download link in the wrong session, removing access after a refund, and automatically blocking new $7 Lead Pack purchases after 2 or more refunds (our team gets an alert to review it). Suspensions and bans are never automatic.
13. If you break these Terms
If we find, after review, that you've broken section 8, and the owner of FedSonar approves:
- we may suspend your account while we look into it, and
- we may terminate your account. Termination ends all access, including any remaining paid period, with no further access.
Before we terminate your account, we'll tell you why and give you 7 days' notice and a chance to respond, except for clear or urgent abuse.
We may also take other steps the law allows.
Termination for breach may also block you from opening a new account or buying again.
14. Payments
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record. That means Lemon Squeezy sells to you, takes payment, handles sales tax or VAT, and handles payment disputes. Lemon Squeezy's own buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
We never see or store your card details.
Pro renews monthly until you cancel.
Payment status and access:
| Status | Access |
|---|---|
| Active | Yes |
| Cancelled | Yes, until the end of the period you paid for |
| Past due | Yes, during Lemon Squeezy's payment retry period |
| Paused | No, until resumed |
| Unpaid | No, until paid |
| Expired | No |
| Refunded | No, removed right away |
Price changes: we'll tell you at least 30 days before a Pro price change takes effect. You can cancel before then.
15. Cancelling and refunds
Cancel Pro anytime from your account or through Lemon Squeezy. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. You won't be charged again.
Refunds are allowed. To ask for one, email hello@fedsonar.com or use the link in your Lemon Squeezy order email.
- Lead Pack ($7): refundable within 14 days of purchase if you haven't downloaded it.
- Pro ($29/month): refundable for the current month only.
Please know:
- A refund removes access right away. That includes the refunded Lead Pack or Pro period, and any open download links.
- A chargeback (disputing the payment with your bank) also removes access right away.
- Repeat refunds: after 2 or more refunds on one account or email, new $7 purchases are blocked automatically, and our team gets an alert to review it.
16. No guarantee on leads
We work hard to be accurate, but we can't promise leads are complete, correct or up to date.
- Government data can be wrong, late, changed or withdrawn.
- Our tags, summaries, Fit scores and eligibility hints are generated by software and may be wrong.
- Alerts can be delayed or missed.
Always check the official notice on SAM.gov before you bid. The official notice, and any amendments, are what count.
17. Not legal or procurement advice
FedSonar gives information, not advice.
Nothing on FedSonar is legal, procurement, tax, accounting or bidding advice. Fit scores and "can I bid?" hints are estimates.
Decide for yourself, and get professional advice where you need it.
18. Service provided "as is"
FedSonar is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
We don't guarantee any uptime. We may pause the service for maintenance or if a data source is unavailable.
19. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- We're not liable for lost bids, lost contracts, lost profits, lost data, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss.
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.
20. Your responsibility to us
If you break these Terms or the law while using FedSonar and that causes a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim.
21. Ending your account
You can delete your account anytime from your account page or by emailing hello@fedsonar.com. Everything is fully deleted within 7 days, except a minimal record kept for a stated period (the Terms-acceptance log, a hashed repeat-refund flag, and any abuse evidence). See Privacy Policy section 10.
Deleting your account cancels your Pro subscription automatically.
We may also close the service or your account for reasons other than breach. If we do, we'll give 30 days' notice and a pro-rated refund for unused paid time.
Sections that should survive after your account ends will survive (for example sections 6, 8 (for files you downloaded), 16 to 20, 23, and 25 for any STOP request).
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is important:
- we'll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect, and
- we may ask you to accept the new version with a click. We log that acceptance with the version and time.
If you don't agree, you can stop using FedSonar and cancel before the change takes effect.
The version number and date at the top always show the current Terms. Past versions are kept in a public archive.
23. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Disputes go to the courts of British Columbia.
Please contact us first at hello@fedsonar.com. Most problems can be solved by email.
24. Other legal terms
- Whole agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the full agreement between us about FedSonar.
- Severability: if part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- No waiver: if we don't enforce something right away, we can still enforce it later.
- Transfer: you can't transfer your account or license. We may transfer these Terms if the business is sold or reorganized.
- Language: These Terms are written in English.
- Trademarks: "FedSonar" and "Farsonar" are names we use.
25. SMS Terms
These SMS Terms cover text messages from FedSonar. Texts are optional.
- Brand: FedSonar (run by Farsonar).
- Program: FedSonar sign-in codes and watch alerts. We text you (1) a one-time sign-in code when you ask for one, and (2) "Watch this notice" alerts when a government notice you watch changes (for example, a deadline moves).
- How you join: you add your mobile number and tick the SMS consent box in your account settings or when you set up a watch alert. The box is never pre-ticked.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can buy and use FedSonar without texts. Sign-in by email link always works.
- Message frequency: sign-in codes are sent only when you request one. Watch alerts vary with how often your watched notices change, up to 5 alert texts per day.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to cancel. We send one message confirming you're unsubscribed, then no more texts. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@fedsonar.com.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Numbers: US mobile numbers only at launch. Canadian numbers come in a later update (v1.1).
- Privacy: our Privacy Policy (section 13) explains how we handle your phone number and SMS consent.
